Nuremburg - GERMANY
Nuremberg features the stunning half-timbered buildings found throughout Germany. The Old Town is still surrounded by the medieval wall that somehow survived intense bombing during WWII. It's hard to imagine that the city was about 90 percent destroyed during WWII. The controversial decision was made to rebuild in the original style of old Germany with the red roofs. The reconstructed buildings hold so much charm.
To add to the rustic features, a beautiful river runs through it and that is exactly where our next AirBnB was situated. As it turns out, this rental unit was voted one of the most loved homes on AirBnB according to guests. Although I wasn't aware of this accolade at the time of booking, our stay there left no doubt as to why it received such acclaim. Fortunately, it was available for our stay during New Year's Eve, and the view from our windows was nothing short of spectacular, overlooking the river and the picturesque bridges.
After a hectic travel itinerary, we opted to slow down and savor a couple of leisurely days in Nuremberg, immersing ourselves in the charm of this quaint old town. Our decision proved serendipitous as we were treated to the delightful surprise of fireworks illuminating the night sky right outside our bedroom windows in the comfort of our PJs.
Our next stop for Karp's On Tour is Freiburg!
