Freiburg - GERMANY
We selected Freiburg im Breisgau as one of our destinations for a couple of reasons. One primary allure was its proximity to the enchanting Black Forest and the other was the opportunity to visit the world famous Cuckoo Clock Shop. Discovering that Freiburg is a vibrant university city nestled within a charming medieval old town, crisscrossed by picturesque brooks (bächle), added an extra layer of appeal. Our initial day was spent leisurely strolling along the captivating cobblestone streets, adorned with intriguing shops and numerous delightful cafes. The subsequent day, we embarked on a picturesque train journey to Triberg im Schwarzwald, a quaint town situated in the heart of the Black Forest and home to the Cuckoo Clock shop. Lynette and I had already decided to commemorate our joint Christmas celebration with the purchase of a Cuckoo Clock.
